We need some hippies on that bench.

Abbie's Tree House

“‘The nature of marriage is that, through its enduring bond, two persons together can find other freedoms, such as expression, intimacy, and spirituality.’ (Really? Who ever thought that intimacy and spirituality [whatever that means] were freedoms? And if intimacy is, one would think Freedom of Intimacy is abridged rather than expanded by marriage. Ask the nearest hippie.”  ~excerpt from, Justice Scalia’s dissent (source)

As the nearest hippie, I’ll be happy to answer that one:  “Offering options grants more freedom, not less, and I’d say freedom of intimacy and spirituality falls under the heading of ‘unalienable rights granted by our Creator.’”
