Saturday hippie: Taking to crafts

Jewelry-making was far from the only craft that proliferated as a consequence of the hippie outbreak. Pottery, weaving, woodworking were among the others.

It’s one more element of the Hippie Trails saga.

Hippies came – and still come – in all varieties. Saturday Hippie is a weekly feature that highlights a counterculture awareness and spirit, including a vision of a harmonious global commonwealth on the horizon.     I never took up anything, sad to say. Well, that’s not entirely true. I embroidered flowers and designs on clothing and made my own clothing. Mostly I bought or traded for items other people made.
