Your scouting is excellent. You didn’t say what kind of Catholics, by the way. Distinctions can be quite important.

The emerging picture indicates a need for our taking initial precautions.

First off, keep your eyes on the lookout for falcons or lions. Give me a holler at the sign of the slightest suspicion, apart from that little yrUBbury zoo up on the mountainside.

Second, the Inca may be moving into position for a preemptive strike. Should any additional AWOL soldiers come into your vision, sound an alarm.

Third, your proposal for the fat old houses that seem to climb up the hillsides is excellent. Remember, in the event of armed conflict, the Inca will want to have good position on the ridges. You are, therefore, authorized to begin purchasing hillside property as it comes on the market. Do so very quietly. If necessary, use Goat-man or Thor to front for you. This is not, however, the time to begin turning the slopes into the garden communities you envision. We’ll until late spring, at the earliest, before launching that enterprise. I’ll permit you to assemble the designers to plan that project, as you find the right individuals.

Remember, Bill: dreaming is our most important resource.

We must remain careful so that we are not rudely awakened.
