I don’t know what to make of any of the information you sent about Mercedes’ ancestry. So when she fights with Wolf Jester it’s because, deep down, she thinks he’s not good enough? I didn’t see any of those qualities you describe when they visited.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of powerful women in political intrigue. Mama Huaco certainly seems to exemplify that. Also about the different kinds of power, open knowledge versus witchcraft, for instance. No clear conclusions, though.
Everybody at synagogue was telling me about their Purim performance. The Book of Esther set to South Pacific. Was hoping we could take it to the Opera House, but looks like the answer’s no. Something about copyright infringement. Didn’t realize the president of Save Our Mills was Jewish. Sometimes you can tell, and apparently, sometimes you can’t. For some reason, I’d thought he might be Orthodox.
Now Esther, there’s one to rival Mama Huaco! And how different!
